Our History

Morgan & Morgan Group is the principal provider of legal and financial solutions for Panama and Central America, with approximately 800 employees servicing an efficient operational network in more than 20 cities in America, Asia and Europe. 

With more than 86 years of successful trajectory, the origins of Morgan & Morgan dates back when Eduardo Morgan Álvarez (1902-1988) began his law practice in the Republic of Panama founding Morgan & Morgan – Attorneys at Law in 1923. In 1964, Eduardo Morgan Jr. and later his brother Juan David Morgan joined the firm, incorporating new partners, business practices and expanding internationally seeking for new business opportunities.

Today, Morgan & Morgan - Attorneys at Law is the largest and the most internationally oriented law firm in Panama and Central America. Our 32 partners and team of more than 70 specialized lawyers and financial experts are dedicated to tax-planning, asset-protection, estate-planning services, corporate law, fiscal law, mergers and acquisitions, insurance and reinsurance, environmental law, banking law, energy and telecommunications, immigration, intellectual property, labor law, ship registration, civil, commercial and maritime litigation, and structuring and management of corporations, among others specialties.    

In order to provide a better service to its customers, the Morgan & Morgan law firm has developed, besides its legal practice, and integrated and multidisciplinary group of service companies known as The Morgan & Morgan Group (MMG), that includes, among others, MMG Bank, an international licensed bank in The Bahamas and a general license bank in Panama, as well as MMG Trust companies with fiduciary licenses in Panama, Zurich, BVI, Belize and Ecuador.
